Real Resilience:
A Community Talk on Mental Health
…Welcome to Real Resilience, a community talk on mental health.
When I opened my books with ax events earlier this year Felicity reached out to me about organising this event.
I was instantly inspired by her story.
I knew Fliss from school but I had no idea of her story and the resilience she encountered over the last 10 years & since leaving school.
I still remember our first call and I remember feeling the emotion, passion & drive that Fliss had to deliver this event and have people hear her story to not only make a difference in the Dubbo community but everywhere!
Fliss.
…you are a mother, a (not so small) business owner, you are a partner (now fiancé), and you have grown such an incredible amount of resilience from facing mental health challenges, you are so inspiring, and I am so honored to have helped you tell and share your story.
Friday 28 June, a sellout event...
“In front of 30 people, I spoke my truth about bipolar disorder. There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. My story is out - I am healing.”
- Fliss
A huge thank you to both presenters, Jill & Tanya for being a part of Fliss’ event.
Thank you both for creating awareness around Mental health, help share Fliss’ story, creating a safe space for us all, delving into your professional insights and sharing your expertise in your field.
Fliss, thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing your story.
…in the hope to inspire and encourage everyone facing Mental Health challenges, that with the right support, the right guidance, you will be okay, and you will build resilience and that there is essentially a light at the end of the tunnel.
I am so grateful to have worked with you on this event and personally you’ve given me the opportunity to work on my own vulnerability.
Friday night’s event was nothing short of inspirational, guts & true resilience.
We raised over $400 for Black Dog Institute through raffle tickets – thank you to those who contributed.
